Mining, gems and sockets

Mine veins with a pickaxe and learn to cut, combine and socket gems in your equipment.

Mining takes place at veins in the world. The materials you obtain are used at the Gem Workshop, which separates material cutting, gem combining and socketing an item.

Step by step

  1. Prepare your pickaxe and inventory. Equip a pickaxe and leave room for materials. An ordinary weapon and an empty wall cannot replace a pickaxe and a vein.
  2. Approach a vein. Stand on an adjacent tile and use normal attacks on it. The system uses the vein as the gathering target.
  3. Check what you obtained. Check the material and its purity. As your mining improves, gathering results may improve; do not assume two materials with similar names are the same item.
  4. Check your profession. Open Profesiones (Professions) and select Minería (Mining) to see the profession’s level, experience and statistics.
  5. Open the Gem Workshop. At the NPC’s workshop service, choose the relevant operation. Always check the ingredients, result and cost shown by the window before confirming.

Cutting: turning materials into gems

Select a recipe and check which minerals, purity and other ingredients it requires. Add the required materials and review the result preview. A recipe that requires a scroll is not unlocked simply by having the minerals.

Some ores share names with items used in other systems. Mining Crystal and refining Crystal have different uses; use the item accepted by the recipe slot.

Combining: gathering compatible copies

Combining uses compatible gems to produce the result stated by the recipe. It does not freely mix gems of any type or rarity. Check the family, required copies and result before accepting.

The workshop identifies its gems with the prefix “Taller:”. This helps distinguish them from older gems that may exist in inventories. The workshop window is the reference for which materials an operation accepts.

Socketing: placing a gem in equipment

  1. Select the item. Place the piece of equipment and check its available sockets. Not every item has the same socket configuration.
  2. Choose the socket and gem. Explicitly select the target socket and a compatible gem. The workshop distinguishes elemental attack gems, elemental defence gems and physical defence.
  3. Review the preview. Compare the current state with the expected result. If the socket already contains a gem, read the replacement confirmation before accepting.
  4. Confirm and verify. After the operation, check the socket and the item’s statistics. Do not close the window assuming the preview has already applied the change.

Compatibility and common errors

If the workshop rejects an operation, note the full item name, gem, socket and displayed message. A map’s vein count and respawn times cannot be inferred from profession level.

  • An item does not allow unlimited combinations of elemental attack or defence gems.
  • Recipe materials must match in type and conditions; a similar name is not enough.
  • Lack of space or a missing ingredient may prevent the operation.
  • Replacing a gem requires checking the selected socket and accepting its confirmation.

Frequently asked questions

Does crafting any item improve the profession?

Check Mining progress in Professions. Workshop crafting and gathering are different operations; do not assume every craft grants mining experience.

Can I replace a gem?

The workshop supports replacing a gem in the selected socket after confirmation. Check the result before accepting.
